Hoya, commonly referred to as "Wax Plant" is a genus consisting of over 500 species.
Hoyas are widely cultivated for their aromatic blooms and unique foliage. Generally, most Hoya plants prefer to dry out almost completely between watering due to their semi-succulent nature. Some Hoyas do need more water than others. Most Hoya plants do best in warm temperatures (60-90deg) but all are well suited as indoor plants. They prefer bright indirect light to parital full sun depending on the Hoya type. Hoya like be fertilized with a partially diluted houseplant fertilizer every other watering during the growing season.
Watering: We do what we call the *Taco Test* tell if our Hoya needs watered. The "taco test" may sound like a silly name, but it's one of the most reliable ways to tell when your Hoya or succulent needs a drink. If your Hoya is looking wrinkly or depleted, gently attempt to fold one of the mature leaves, closer to the bottom of the Hoya as you would a soft taco. If the leaf is firm, there is no need to water. If the leaf folds easily then give it a drink!
